Last Friday night before going to bed, I checked to see what time the sun would rise in Panama City so I could set my alarm accordingly. As a TN girl, sunrises on the beach are not something I’m accustomed to experiencing and I did not want to miss it. However, you know the drill, as soon as my alarm went off I was tempted to hit the snooze and go out after catching a few more zZ’s but instead, I felt a certain stirring in my heart telling me,

“Don’t snooze on me, Case.”

So I got up, made the coffee and headed out to sit on the porch. It was foggy and I couldn’t even see the sun rising from where I was sitting but I could feel the presence of the Lord and I could feel him saying:

“I’m doing something big and I don’t want you to miss it.”

My time with the Lord has been wrapped up with my work for the Lord but He is calling me out and calling me to more – more sitting with Him, more resting in Him, more of Him and less of me.

I’m not sure if God speaks to you with lovingly stern tones or if that is just reserved for the particularly hard headed ones of the group (*cough* HELLO!) but God really got a hold of me last week as I met with him on the beach each morning.

And in his loving kindness, my Heavenly Father met me each morning and I walked away corrected for sin in my life and more aware of distractions in my life while also feeling affirmed and loved for who I am and who He created me to be.

And I could have missed it.

One of the recurring conversations I’ve had with college students and adult friends alike is the struggle of cultivating a rhythm of spending time in God’s word and in his presence each morning.

With that in mind, I have created a guide to assist in developing a daily discipline of spending time in God’s word.

I’m terrified to release this little baby into the world but I’m also excited to share a piece of what God is teaching me.
